Start your day with a journey to the Pyramids complex, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Explore the Great Pyramid of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinus. Drive to Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in 312 B.C. and was the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt. Begin your full day of exploration with the catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt, which was discovered accidentally in 1900 when a donkey disappeared through the ground. proceed to Pompey’s Pillar, an 82-foot (25-meter) granite column and visit the Roman amphitheatre, possibly the best preserved Roman site in Egypt.
After lunch you will drive past the impressive Library of Alexandria, a copy of every book published in the world is kept in the library, making it one of the great literary sites in the world. Continue to Qaitbay Fort, erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Finally, stroll Montazah Palace royal gardens and trees.
