Misr Travel tour manager will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh at 23:00 and then drive for about 2 hours from Sharm to Moses Mountain in a coach. Please ensure that you have some warm clothing with you as it can be chilly at certain times of the year. Any drinks or snacks that you can carry in you back pack are most welcome. Our guide will be on the transfer vehicle with you all the way to the base of the mountain. He will answer any questions that you have and will give you an insight into the history of the area. Once at the base of the mountain you are handed over to a Bedouin guide as Egyptian guides are not permitted to escort you to the top of the Mountain.

On arrival you will start the ascent to the top of Mount Sinai. Reaching 2,285 m (ft), the climb includes about 750 steps, and will take you through the night to finish. For those of you that may get a little tired then there is an option of some camel assistance for a small charge. There are plenty of areas on the way up to the summit for a break, sit and rest with the locals and have a chat and a cup of tea or rest stop on reaching the summit, gaze in awe as the sun rises, flooding the mountain with light.

On your journey back down the mountain you will stop at St. Catherine’s Monastery, built between 527 and 565 A.D. The monastery is believed to have been built around the site of Moses’ Burning Bush. During your visit you will visit the chapel of a Greek Orthodox Church to see famous icons and the Mosaic of Transfiguration.

After visiting this incredible ancient site, you will leave for Sharm El Sheikh, and arrive in Sharm at about 13:00, enjoying a transfer you back to your hotel.
